Policy made in isolation fails the people it governs. NIPD exists to close the gap between evidence and decision.
Pakistan's most consequential decisions — on security, the economy, technology and the climate — are too often made under time pressure and with incomplete information. NIPD was founded to change that: an institute that brings together career analysts, serving and retired officials, and academic researchers to produce policy work that is rigorous enough for government and readable enough for the public debate that must accompany it.
We convene the seminars, commission the surveys, and publish the briefs that connect research to the room where decisions are actually made — grounded in inclusive dialogue with the communities and institutions those decisions affect.
Our funding, governance and authorship are structured to keep the research independent of any single political interest.
